Carta Blanca Dance (CBD) are Jorge Garcia Perez and Permi Jhooti. Collaborators for many years they officially joined forces in early 2016 to bring together their wealth of experience in dance, art, technology and science. They aim not only to combine different worlds of artists but to bring their shows to new venues and audiences in Switzerland and Internationally.
Having previously organized a successful program at Filter 4 in 2015, the first official CBD event will be kicked off in collaboration with Jays at Ackermannshof on June 30th. Bringing together 3 talented young choreographers, Jorge Garcia Perez, Andrea Tortosa Vidal and Alba Carbonell Castelli, the triple bill of new pieces will show over 3 subsequent evenings. Sunday July 3th will be a special charity brunch with 4 pieces by Art & Dance Lörrach. Jorge has been working with this young group for over a year and they have won several competitions.
CBD will also be supporting the charity Second Sight. Set up with the aim of eradicating curable blindness in India, 100% of donations are used to restore sight. A donation of CHF 30 WILL cure a blind person. The money pays for outreach workers to visit even the most remote areas, to accompany the blind to hospital by bus, train, boat or bullock-cart, for all surgery and post-operative treatment, and for food during the overnight hospital stay. Permi has been involved with this charity for over 3 years and has travelled to India to support their work. The inspirational founder of this charity, Lucy Mathen, will also be present at the events to share stories and promote the work of this wonderful charity.
Following brunch will be a flea market with different local brands that will be supporting the charity organization.
Tickets are available from Jays in Ackermannshof and Mynt.
